Visitors to Hall W2 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center will certainly do a double take when they stumble upon the all-new Geely Emgrand EC6-RV. The car looks remarkably like BMW's MINI Cooper, with some extra styling.

Though width and height is similar to the Cooper, the Chinese-made car is certainly not identical. The Geely is reportedly 100 mm longer than the MINI, at 3845mm, and has a 6mm longer wheelbase of 2467mm.

Clear differences in the bodies can be seen with the extra styling along the sides, larger side sills, oval wing mirrors and a bulbous back end with more noticeable C-pillars. The front looks to be a bit stubbier, with a shortened hood, though the bumper also shows extra girth. Teardrop headlights are also featured.

Geely will reportedly show the car with a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. Transmission options could include a dual-clutch and a six-speed manual. Instead of the multi-link rear suspension at the rear, the Geely model will use a semi-independent torsion beam system in back. Geely could make use of a McPherson system as well.
